Service Users Conference
July 2005

More than 200 people gathered in July 2005 to enjoy the first in a series of events this year, which will mark the 20th anniversary of Mirus in South Wales.

The Service Users Conference took place at The Quality Hotel in Cardiff and brought together people from across the region who are supported by the 1,000 strong Mirus team.

Indian head massages, reflexology, music therapy and a disco were just some of the activities on offer for the group as well as an opportunity to look back at the last 20 years of OHT through books, stands and pictorial displays.

Service users were also given the chance to make their views known about the work of Mirus and offer suggestions on how it could continue to improve its service.

Steve Cox, chief executive of Mirus, said: “It’s important that everyone involved with Mirus has an opportunity to celebrate the 20th anniversary. It’s going to be a very exciting year.”
